What makes the Cybersecurity Risk Management program unique?

Short answer: It's right there in the name, really. It's not just about understanding threats and all the tech available to respond to them. It's about learning to situate all that knowledge within organizational frameworks - where things aren't always black and white, but where things exist on a spectrum of risk.

It's not just about pentests, vulnerability audits and deployment of SIEM, TIG, XDR/NDR and such. It's about developing larger, holistic, cohesive plans and frameworks that employ all those. Going further, it's also about people and processes - and answering questions like how resilient are the processes?, how cyber-aware are the users?

It's not just about the potential of being a cybersecurity technology professional. It goes beyond that to be a force/faculty/entity that works with the CXOs. It's entirely probable that business schools will soon have MBA courses with Cybersecurity Risk as a specialization.

This groundbreaking vision is what makes the MSc Cybersecurity Risk Management at University of Galway unique at this point.
