Interesting read: Public-interest Technologists
An article that talks about Cybersecurity in a big-picture context. In it, I discovered the identity marker/term “public-interest technologist” - someone “working at the intersection of security, technology, and people” as detailed by the post’s author, Bruce Schneier.
As information systems keep influencing and shaping society, culture and the larger human story, there is a fundamental need for governmental and other policymaking to have a strong understanding of the information systems. Not just an understanding of the Information Technology, but Information Systems - which is more than the technology, as it involves the effect/usage of that technology as part of human life.
